Bandstand

'The Bandstand' is a live performance workshop for musicians of all ages and takes place every Saturday in our very own concert hall. Whether you're already a student at the Academy or play in a band and think you could do with some extra coaching - our experts are here to transform your band into a professional sounding outfit.

Many musicians young or old dream of playing in a band and by joining the Bandstand you'll have the opportunity to do just that. We teach you everything you need to know about playing in a band, learning parts, effective rehearsing, onstage communication, etc.

Just like a professional band you'll have to perform in front of an audience and that's why we have joined forces with local venues to stage 'The Gig' on a regular basis. Here, students perform in a real-world environment in front of a crowd and experience first hand what it's really like to play in a band.

It's also a great way to get to know like-minded musicians and make connections. Many friendships have been forged at the Bandstand over the last few years and several of our bands are now regularly performing locally.
