Bandstand
'The Bandstand' is a live performance workshop for musicians of all ages and takes place every Saturday in our very own concert hall.
Many of our students dream of playing in a band and by joining the Bandstand they have the opportunity to do just that. We teach them everything they need to know about band playing, learning parts, effective rehearsing, onstage communication, etc.
Just like a 'real' band they have to perform in front of an audience and that's why we have joined forces with a local venue to stage 'The Gig' on a regular basis. Here, students perform in a real-world environment in front of a crowd and experience first hand what it's really like to play in a band.
It's also a great way to get to know like-minded musicians and make connections. Many friendships have been forged at the Bandstand over the last year and several of our bands are now regularly performing locally.
